A Deeper Look
Tree resins used for incense are a pure, potent product, exuded from trees. Humans have used tree resins for millennia for medicinal, ceremonial and practical purposes. Naturally produced in special resin cells of trees, resin is also produced when injury occurs to a tree, to protect and heal itself. Trees can be coaxed to produce resin from careful incisions created to harvest these precious materials. The time of year, part of the tree, duration of harvest and other auxiliary environmental factors all play an essential role in the quality, quantity, potency, and sustainability of yield.
